COMPANY HISTORY
Process Instrumentation was started in 1990 under the leadership of myself (Shane Thompson). The business focus at that time was to become a service provider specialising on coal mining instrumentation. As this service was implemented, it became necessary to offer a sales service as well as the technical service backup. The resultant becoming, a single on site contractor, responsible for; the sale, the installation, the commissioning, and later the breakdown repairs and maintenance of the equipment. |

Several types of equipment are at present maintained by our company for different mines on a subcontract basis. The weekly/two weekly or monthly visits are charged as a fixed monthly cost and breakdowns (if required) are an addition charge. In this manner the client has a workmanship guarantee included in the contract price. To date the company have grown to encorporate, eight service staff, four sales staff, and a remaining five employees including myself provide the financial, delivery and cleaning requirements in the company. A total of seventeen personnel have joined forces to enable this company to have prospered, as it has to date. Local industry and power generation (Eskom) have become an increasing demand on our companies services over the past year, calling for various types of instrumentation and electrical control equipment. This and our present sales and services is forcing the company to grow beyond all proportions. Our future business prospects as well as the market feedback enable our confidence in business for the remainder of 2001. |
